Cole scores twice in third period to lift Generals to 5-4 win

The Moose Jaw Generals used their power play to propel them to a 5-4 win over the Tisdale Trojans Saturday night.

Rykr Cole scored the Generals third power play goal of the night with 3:48 remaining to break a 4-4 tie at Mosaic Place in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

It was Cole’s second goal and the game and his fourth point of the night.

Caleb Riess and Shane Collins scored first period power play goals for the Generals who took a 3-1 lead 11 minutes into the game.

Tisdale’s Rylan Freed scored late in the first period and then tied the game with the only goal of the second period.

Cole gave the Generals a third period lead before Tyler Olson replied to tie the game back up.

Jared Legien had the other Generals goal. Donovan Neuls had four assists for the Generals.

Moose Jaw finished 3-for-8 on the power play.

Colby Entz made 17 saves in goal for the Generals.

Moose Jaw’s record improves to 17-7-4 as they remain ahead of Tisdale and in fourth place in the league standings.

The Generals host Beardy’s Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
