Darren Engel is a repeat champion at the Men's Annual Bonspiel in Moose Jaw.
In a sense anyway.

DFA Transport — Travis Gansauge, left, Jason Barnhart, Andrew Kowalsky and Darren Engel — won the A event at the Pioneer 112th Annual Men's Bonspiel at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.
A few years had passed since he had entered the spiel, but he has now won in two straight appearance as he and his DFA Transport rink beat Bob Desjarlais 9-2 in Sunday's final at the Pioneer 112th Annual Men's Bonspiel at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre
"It was a lot of fun. We played in this a few years ago and had a good time, so we figured we would come back and try to get another championship," said Engel. "A few of us have won it a few different times on a few different teams."
Engel was joined by third Andrew Kowalsky, second Jason Barnhart and lead Travis Gansauge. The core of that team plays together in the Wednesday night Super League, but it was a new foursome for the weekend.
"The four of us have never curled together before. We're friends from university and what-not. We're scattered all over the place: one from Saskatoon, two from Regina and one from Moose Jaw — so we got together for a guys weekend and have some fun," said Engel. "We had fun on the ice and off the ice."
They scored four in the seventh end to produce hand shakes and finish off a final that was closer than the score indicated.
DFA Transport won four straight games to win the title. They haven't had a very busy bonspiel schedule this season, so they enjoyed their win.
"All of us were fairly competitive a few years ago and we took a step back and play in events like this. It's more fun than anything," said Engel.
Dave Morin beat Devin Brown 5-1 to win the B side, Brent Rilling defeated Wade Gray 7-2 in the C final and Murray Stroeder beat Warren Marcotte 7-3 in the D final.
