Judge Douglas Kovatch could not be convinced to release Amber Ward on bail.

Provincial court

Ward, 18, is facing charges including break, enter and robbery; masked while committing an indictable offence; threatening and several firearms possession charges.

She appeared in Moose Jaw provincial court Wednesday for her show cause hearing.

The details of the hearing are protected by a publication ban.

The charges stem from a home invasion that occurred on March 19.

Two others — Ryan Tatum, 29, and Nicole Bouchard, 21 — have also been charged in connection to the incident.

According to the Moose Jaw Police Service, a homeowner on Ninth Avenue Northwest called police on the morning of March 19 and told them two people had forced their way into the residence and demanded cash.

At that time, police said, a handgun was allegedly produced, the suspects obtained cash and then left the residence.

Police arrested and charged an adult male and an adult female — identified as Ryan Tatum and Nicole Bouchard — that day.

Amber Ward was arrested the following weekend.

Tatum and Bouchard appeared in court Tuesday. Tatum was held in remand. Bouchard was released on conditions.

Ward has been remanded into custody until April 8.

The Crown and defence counsel are still awaiting further disclosure from police.
