Holy Trinity School Division (HTCSD) is on the hunt for a new director of education.

Celeste York, former director of education with Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, speaks at a past division workshop at Vanier Collegiate.

Celeste York stepped down from that position on May 12 due to personal reasons, Geri Hall, superintendent of curriculum, instruction and assessment for HTCSD, told the Times-Herald on May 20.

Hall has since assumed the role of acting director of education.

“The division is well aware that I’m the acting director until which time the board is able to put out an advertisement and advertise for a director.

“These things can happen sometimes and are not foreseen,” said Hall. “It was unexpected for me.”

Hall is unsure how long she will serve as York’s interim replacement, adding that there is no timetable on when a new director of education will be hired.

She noted, however, that at the next HTCSD board meeting – June 9 – the board would discuss its preliminary plan of attack for hiring a new director of education.

The Times-Herald attempted to contact York multiple times, but thus far we have been unable to reach her.
