Allan Jackson challenged a speed record on Friday.

Alan Jackson is performing at Mosaic Place on Sept. 18.

The country star's Sept. 18 Mosaic Place show sold out within in minutes of going on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m.

"I can see four tickets available, which are likely in someones cart right now but they just haven't finished typing in their credit card information," Doug Campbell, director of business at Mosaic Place told the Times-herald shortly after 10:30 a.m..

It was the second quickest sellout for a Mosaic Place concert, second only to the Backstreet Boys.

"The Backstreet Boys went into transition within minutes – meaning all the tickets were held by purchasers. By the time it was officially sold out was at the 15 minute mark," explained Campbell, before saying that the outstanding response to these shows is due to the fact that Moose Jaw is a marketplace that can attract future acts of this nature.

Campbell said Mosaic Place does internal reports that indicate where the ticket buyers are from. He said shows like Alan Jackson have 40 per cent of the audience traveling a significant distance.

"It creates a signficant economic impact, when they are traveling to our city and staying in our hotels and purchasing locally," he said, before explaining that with the Mosaic Place being the only Jackson tour stop in Saskatchewan, it makes for a broader geographic audience.

Having sold nearly 60 million albums worldwide, Jackson is considered to be one of the most successful and respected singer –songwriters in music.

Jackson is an 18-time ACM Award winner, a 16-time CMA Award winner and a two-time Grammy-winning artist and now he is coming to Moose Jaw.
